'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the nail-biting final moments of Swansea's stunning fightback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear after the pitch-side pile-on.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful strike from distance, and the defender promptly hammered in the loose ball before charging toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with the crowd swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result capped an extraordinary comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the latter period. Amid the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter shouting out and Josh Key and I were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory booked a upcoming match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for having a go from that range," says Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right flank after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the City players who paid tribute to the way Orient approached the match.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they always find their target and they understand how to manage and slow down a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert every second of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and focus just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at Leyton Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in south Wales. At his previous team he reunited with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he moved on from his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a bit naive going into men's football. I think many athletes would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without real physicality. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for his team and nation, performing well for his national side, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away games against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his eye for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This represents quite the ride for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

Galbraith's sole appearance for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "It was a long trip and it was cold out there," he says, grinning. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How hard was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a small coach driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself a teammate, Ronald, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's pleasant to socialize with the guys but I'm hoping to be the following person to drive independently and driving. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on the Tube after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
