Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.
An important representative stated the attack made him speechless and required to be solved quickly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
